MotoE: A love letter.

MotoE, you will be missed.

They never understood you anyway.

You brought something new and different.

You never pretended to be something.

You were unappreciated, criminally.

What was the reason you didn't work?

It was never about you. It was others.

It's tough to see so much bad spoken about you.

I wish you were still here.

You should see what they've replaced you with..

We hardly knew ye.

But in all seriousness, we WILL miss MotoE next season.

A prototype one-make series that was produced by Ducati should have been a ROARING success. But it missed that one critical element that apparently makes everyone love bikes. The sound. Who would have thought a pure racing machine would be turned upon because it doesn't piss off your grandma with the noise it makes? Is that truly the measurement we are defining a race machine by?

If so, we have lost our way.

Ducati made their V21L to be a machine that could have been improved upon year after year. The solid state batteries this year was a groundbreaking step. This platform had POTENTIAL. But we won't get to see it, as baggers will take over from 2026. We've had a brilliant concept torn from our grasp. And it's a shame. Nobody was thrilled about it, and that was it's problem. There wasn't enough public interest to save it.

But replacing a prototype series with BAGGERS?

A production chassis? Designed for cruising a straight highway? Come on.

RIP MotoE. You were the right idea in the wrong dress. Maybe we'll see you again someday. We can hope.
